Upon notification of acceptance, an applicant should enroll within two weeks. An applicant who fails to enroll within two weeks will be denied admission and will have to reapply by filing another application and pay the application fee to be admitted on the next enrollment date. All other materials in the admitted applicant's file are carried forward to be reevaluated. Students are directed to the tuition schedules and fees, and the accompanying tuition and refund policies of the school. After enrollment, the student has the right to cancel the enrollment agreement as set forth under the School of Law's Refund Policy and Right to Cancel. Confidentiality of Student Records In accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974, P.L. 93 380, as amended by P.L. 92 318, eligible students may review personal educational records, have the opportunity to correct information in those records, and limit disclosure of information from those records. Procedures are available through the Registrar's office. Copies of complete files are also maintained for security at a separate location. Retention of Student Records Students are cautioned and advised that state law requires this educational institution to maintain school and student records for only a five year period. However, the School of Law will provide for long term storage of records. Tuition and Fees Tuition and fees are payable at the time of enrollment for a semester and are subject to change without notice. The following rates are effective. Application for admission (nonrefundable) $ 45.00 Transcript fee, for each transcript $ 5.00 Returned check fee $ 20.00 Tuition per year (bar study) $3,000.00 Tuition per year (non-bar study) $3,000.00 Registration fee $ 75.00 Re test for final exam $ 50.00 Bachelor of Science in Law Degree $ 100.00 Juris Doctor Degree Certificate $ 100.00 Graduation fee $ 100.00 Late payment fee for past due tuition $ 25.00 (Late fee applies to students on equal monthly payment plan) Financial Arrangements The School of Law requires payment in full of tuition and fees at the beginning of each semester, at the time of enrollment (or monthly payments in equal installments). At the time of enrollment for each semester, the student must determine the payment option being chosen for that semester. There are no finance or interest charges imposed for making timely, equal monthly payments. Note: Transcripts and grade reports are released and degrees are conferred only when all outstanding balances to the School of Law have been paid. Official Transcripts Official transcripts may be requested by mail or in person, accompanied by a check in the amount of $5.00 for each separate transcript requested. Telephone requests for transcripts will not be accepted. Late Payment Policy A late payment fee of $25.00 will be assessed to a student on the equal monthly payment plan if the tuition is not paid by the due date listed in the enrollment agreement. Refund Policy and Right to Cancel A student may cancel the enrollment agreement at any time by notifying the School in writing, by mail, or in person. If cancelled in writing within three (3) business days after the signing of the agreement, all monies shall be refunded within 30 days. A student rejected for training will receive a refund of all monies paid within 30 days. If cancelled after the three (3) day period and within 15 days of receiving first lesson, all monies shall be refunded except an application registration fee not to exceed $100, within 30 days. If a student withdraws after the 15 day period, all tuition and fees shall be refunded on a pro rata basis, less a registration fee not to exceed $100. Once purchased, supplies become the property of the student and no refund by the School of Law will be made. In calculating any tuition refund due, the percentage of completion will be determined by the number of lessons completed divided by the total lessons in the program for which the student enrolled. In all cases of students who withdraw or who are suspended or expelled, the following refund policy shall apply. The institutional refund policy for students who have completed 60 percent or less of the course of instruction shall be a pro rata refund. The School of Law requires that lessons consist of not less than 48 weeks per year nor more than 52 weeks per year. Therefore, lessons are to be calculated in relation to the number of weeks completed during a semester period. The refund of tuition shall be equal to the total amount remaining up to 60% of the lessons, or weeks, are completed, there is no refund. Example: If a student has enrolled in a semester consisting of 17 weeks, after completion of the 10th week (60%), there is no refund. If a student has completed 4 weeks, there are 13 weeks remaining. The percentage is calculated by using the 13 weeks as a numerator multiplied by the tuition paid ($800) divided by the total number of lessons or weeks paid for by the student, that is 17 lessons or weeks. The result is $611.76 refund. Refunds due as a result of withdrawal will be made within 30 days from the date of withdrawal. Within 10 days of any refund, the student will receive a Notice of Refund stating the amount of the refund and to whom the refund was made. Three Day Full Refund Policy A student may cancel his/her enrollment agreement by giving written notice within 72 hours after receiving school course materials and receive a full refund. Any materials belonging to the School must be returned within two weeks. Refund for Lack of Receiving Course Materials The School of Law is obligated to send all course materials within seven (7) days following receipt of student enrollment or the student shall be entitled to a full refund of all monies paid. Full Payment for Course Materials At any time during the enrollment period, upon written request by the student, the School of Law will send the balance of all school course materials to any student who has paid in full for the course(s). Other Refundable Fees 1. Any fee or charge collected in error shall be repaid in full. 2. Any charges collected from a student which the institution holds for the purpose of paying to any other public or private person, firm, organization, or agency, such as for a bond, license, application or examination fees, or any similar fees or charges, shall, where the student fails to enter the course or withdraws therefrom at any time prior to completion of the course, be refunded in full, unless the institution has paid them to that third party prior to receipt of cancellation of a contract or enrollment. 3. All prepaid but unearned fees and other charges paid by a student to the institution shall be refunded if the institution cancels or discontinues the course of program for which the student has enrolled; and if the institution retains a balance on a student's account when the student has completed the program for which he/she contracted, said balance shall be returned to the student within 30 calendar days of the student's leaving the school. The school may not propose that the student apply the balance toward the costs of a subsequent program of study in the same institution. School Closure If the school should close, a student has a right to a pro rata refund of the unused portion of the tuition before a student completes his or her instruction. The pro rata will be calculated in conformance with the Refund Policy above.
