Examination required by Business & Professions Code Section 6060(h) and Rule 4.55 of
Title 4, Division 1 of the Rules of the State Bar of California (Admission Rules) as part of
the requirements to qualify to take the California Bar Examination. A student who
passes the First-Year Law Students' Examination within three (3) administrations of the
examination after first becoming eligible to take it will receive credit for all legal
studies completed to the time the examination is passed. A student who does not pass
the examination within three (3) administrations of the examination after first becoming
eligible to take it must be promptly disqualified from the law school's J.D. degree
program. If the dismissed student subsequently passes the examination, the student is
eligible for reenrollment in the law school's J.D. program, but will receive credit for
only one year of legal studies.

The University of Honolulu School of Law is operated and approved under regulations.

activities and services; school catalogue, financial stability, and ownership.
Registered Law School

The School of Law is not accredited. The School of Law is registered with the Committee of Bar
Examiners of the State Bar of California. This registration qualifies successful California Bar
Study graduates to sit for the California State Bar Exam.

other institutions.

Placement

The School of Law offers a quality education which prepares a successful graduate for
numerous career choices. The School of Law does not intend to guarantee placement or
guarantee salary expectations to the applicant. As students progress in their studies,
consultation and guidance regarding opportunities and career choices will be available through
the staff.

Career Guidance

The School of Law is interested in assuring that all potential applicants are certain of their
abilities and aptitude to study law prior to enrollment. To this end, the Executive Director and
staff which may be assigned provide guidance counselling through the school's office. There is
no fee for these initial consultations.

Admissions Policy Statement

It is the policy of the University of Honolulu School of Law to accept only the most qualified
students within the limits of its resources and facilities. Generally, admission is limited to men
and women of character who hold the Bachelor of Arts or equivalent degree from an accredited
college or university, with a "B" average or above. This catalog includes the most current
information available on the subjects covered as of the date of publication. Final selection of
applicants to be admitted shall be made by the School of Law, which reserves the right to deny
admission to any applicant for any lawful purpose. The School of Law also reserves the right to
modify or eliminate the various rules and policies, including but not limited to: admission
standards and criteria, course offerings, course content, grading requirements and procedures,
and degree requirements and tuition.
